American Legion Elects
2009-2010 Post Officers
New officers have been elected to serve the American Legion Post 119 in Estes Park (pictured below). The Legion officers began serving July 1, 2009 and will continue for one year. All members of the Legion are volunteers.
Jacqueline Halburnt was elected Post Commander. She presides at all meetings of the Post and has general supervision over the business and affairs of the Post. She also appoints all committees.
Brent Rytting and Jim O’Dell were elected Senior Vice Commander and Junior Vice Commander, respectively. They assume the duties of the Commander in her absence. Rytting is responsible for membership and O’Dell is in charge of Post entertainment and public functions.
Donna “DJ” Weber was elected Sergeant-at-Arms. She is the custodian of Post ceremonial property and preserves order at all meetings. You’ll often seen Weber participating in the Post’s Honor Guard in parades and at events.
Jeff Van Bogaert was elected Adjutant. He is responsible for keeping records of the Post and Executive Committee meetings, giving membership reports, and handling all correspondence of the Post. Van Bogaert also participates in the Post’s Honor Guard and maintains the Post website.
Richard “Dink” Oversteg was elected Finance Officer and is charge of all Post funds. Oversteg also leads the Honor Guard.
Diane Rayburn and Chris Futo were elected Service Officers and are in charge of the Post’s Veteran’s services programs.
Brian Cantu was elected Post Historian and is in charge of all records and will keep a written record of Post activities. Cantu also participates in the Post’s Honor Guard.
Frank Faiella was elected Post Chaplain. He is charged with the spiritual welfare of the Post 's comrades and offers divine services at dedications, funerals and public functions.

The American Legion is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly three million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide. The local Estes Park Post has 300 Legion, Sons of the Legion and Auxiliary members. The Legion is always open to the public. Please join us for Wednesday lunches and Friday night dinners.
