July 4^th at the American Legion

Free of charge and open to the public, the American Legion is hosted its annual Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 4^th beginning at 12 noon.

Live entertainment with rockin’ blues band Midnight Trampoline (right) began at 6 p.m. and lasted until the fireworks begin at dusk. Midnight Trampoline is a newly formed local band comprised of Lead guitarist John Weires, Drummer Tommy Yager, Bass guitarist Donnie Yager, Guitarist Robo, and Lead vocalist J. Halburnt. Special guest vocalists are Jeri Barleen and Amy Grewe.

The American Legion obtained a special alcohol permit and the bar was open to the public on July 4^th. John Grewe and the Sons of the American Legion sold hamburgers and hot dogs for $1 throughout the day.

If you we’re looking for something to do on the 4^th of July, you should have stopped by the American Legion for great entertainment, food, fun and fantastic views of the Estes Park fireworks.

The American Legion is conveniently located at the intersection of Highways 34 and 36 across the street from the Holiday Inn and is a prime fireworks viewing location.

Major donors who support the fireworks with donations of $100 or more enjoyed a free BBQ dinner and reserved stadium seating to watch the fireworks.
