Thank You
Veteran’s Military Ball
Veteran’s Day Ceremony
2008
For those of us who attended the 2008 Veteran’s Military Ball, I think we all had a great time, and wished that many more veteran’s in the Estes Park area who did not make it, will hopefully attend next years event. If you did not make it, you missed out on a spectacular evening.
First of all we had the opening ceremony and the POW/MIA ceremony to honor all those who have served but have never returned. Then we had a delicious prime rib dinner with all the trimmings served by Stan and Linda Guzy. After dinner, we danced the night away and “tore up the wood floor” by the music from the Colorado Sunshine Band. The decorations in the hall were unbelievably gorgeous and very patriotic.
A few days later, some of us volunteered and met at the Estes Park cemetery to put flags on each of the veteran’s gravestones. We always feel so honored to do this, making the presentation for Veterans’ Day more beautiful and meaningful for all to see. We were so privileged to have the Freedom Riders entertain us with a beautiful ceremony that would have made most of us choke up on how patriotic and graciously the veteran’s were honored by the show.
We would like to give a special thank you to the following individuals who made it all possible for the military ball and the cemetery ceremonies to function so well and look so beautiful. We apologize if we forgot to recognize anyone else who volunteered during these events.

Thanks again for ALL the Special HELP! We could not have done it without you!!
P.S. We are always hoping to get more dedicated volunteers for the Post Honor Guard. We don’t care if you are a member of the Legion, Sons, or Women’s Auxiliary, we are all united and could sure use more volunteers since we are short staffed. Don’t be shy, we will teach you everything needed to be on the Honor Guard. The are no expenses for the uniforms either. Just be proud to support those who have served and are willing to volunteer for community ceremonial functions. If interested, please contact Donna (DJ) Weber at the legion. We really could use your help!
Sincerely,
Donna (DJ) Weber, Honor Guard
