Veteran Nursing FacilitiesThe Following Is A List Of Colorado's Veteran's Nursing Homes: Colorado State Veterans Home, FlorenceThe State Veterans Home at FLORENCE is conveniently located to the major metropolitan areas along Colorado’s Front Range in a region long recognized for its comfortable climate. The 110-bed facility sits on 40 acres and features beautifully landscaped grounds and spectacular mountain views. The home includes four wheelchair accessible courtyards, a gazebo picnic area, and a spacious covered patio. The dedicated staff is committed to providing personalized, quality care and quality of life in a homelike atmosphere. The staff provides a wide range of comprehensive professional services including onsite physician visits, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation, psychological, and recreational services. The facility also includes a 14-bed Special Care Unit that provides safe and specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s Disease or related conditions that require a secure environment. Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home, RifleThe historic town of Florence has an elevation of 5,200 feet and is located 11 miles from Canon City, 32 miles from Pueblo, and 36 miles from Colorado Springs. Florence is easily accessible by Highways 50 and 115. Located on Colorado's western slope in the scenic Colorado River valley, RIFLE offers a mild climate, with plenty of clean mountain air and beautiful blue skies. Amidst this setting, the State Veterans Nursing Home at Rifle provides 100 beds of skilled nursing care, including a 16-bed Special Care Unit for residents with Alzheimer's Disease or related conditions. Each room is individualized to provide residents with maximum privacy and each resident has a window and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. The facility includes three spacious dining rooms pleasant common areas, a large covered patio and two enclosed courtyards. Services available to residents include extensive activity programs, onsite veteran and social services, library services, cable TV, and transportation to medical appointments.Rifle is located at a comfortable elevation of 5,700 feet, 189 miles west of Denver and 60 miles east of Grand Junction at the intersection of I-70 and State Highway 13 Colorado State Nursing Home, TrinidadThe TRINIDAD State Nursing Home, located in southeastern Colorado, is a 158-bed skilled nursing facility open to all eligible Colorado residents. Trinidad’s beautiful scenery and rich cultural history makes this rural community a very unique place to live. The staff are committed to promoting the health, growth, and rehabilitation of the residents, while enabling residents and their families to maintain self-sufficiency, dignity, and peace of mind. Colorado State Veterans Home, WalsenburgThe Colorado State Veterans Home at WALSENBURG, set against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in southeast Colorado, features a friendly staff that provides homelike nursing care to military veterans and their families. In addition, residents of the 120-bed facility may benefit from the advantage of an attached 24-bed acute care community hospital. Walsenburg residents feel confident they are only moments away from a caring and qualified health professional. The facility includes a 20-bed Special Care Unit for residents with Alzheimer’s or other related disorders. Rehabilitation therapy, dialysis, outpatient and acute hospital services are available on site. The home opened in 1993 and features modern, quiet resident rooms, each featuring a unique view of the beautiful and scenic area. The home’s central mall brings people together in a warm atmosphere, complemented by large picture windows welcoming the Colorado sunshine. Located just west of the town on Highway 160 and adjacent to Lathrop Park, the facility is at a comfortable 6,180 feet elevation.
